EWWW Image Optimizer is the Free WordPress plugin which lets us optimise the image by reducing the size of it but still keeping the quality as is. If you would have already referred our SEO page and differentent techniqies to improve website speed by following “Improving Website Speed” , there are lot of other techniques also to improve the speed.
Using Optimized images reduces the download speed, thus directly improves the search engine presence for your website. In this post, we show how to configure and use the SWWW Image optimizer WordPress plugin.
Search and Install “EWWW Image Optimizer” optimiser plugin in your WordPress dashboard.
From left sidebar in dashboard, click on “Media” -> “Bulk Optimize”, There you will see how many images can be optimised.
Please note: as mentioned there, EWWW Optimizer alters the original images to reduce the size, hence use this plugin only if thats OK for you.
Click on “Scan for unoptimized images” and wait for the optimisation to finish. Once finished, you can which of the images optimised and how much size has been reduced.
